Alma is a 9th grade student and has been in Portugal for almost two years. She says that there are not many cultural differences between Argentina and Portugal, but religion and food are perhaps the main differences.

The teachers are very good and explain things well, but the school structure is different from the one she used to attend, as this one is bigger and the people here are friendly. All of this together is what makes Alma like this school.

One similarity between Portugal and her country is the language, which is why she does not find it very difficult to study and learn Portuguese as a non-native language:

‘The teaching of Portuguese is quite good, actually. I don't find it very difficult to learn a non-native language.’

Alma misses the food and language of Argentina the most, as it is not common to find traditional Argentine food here in Portugal, and she also misses hearing Spanish spoken.

Alma does not need any extra support from the school because she is already well integrated. In her opinion, foreigners can integrate and live well in Portugal because there is no discrimination here.
